My name is Carol Hughes - I have had a sewing needle in my hand as long as I can remember . By the age 15 years I was making all of my clothes and some for my close friends. I continued to dress make for many years as well as working in PROPER jobs through the day. About 20 years ago I made my first patchwork Quilt and I was Hooked! Suddenly dressmaking became less appealing and Craft took over. Five years ago I retired from my full time job Optical Dispensing and decided to devote my time to Patchwork, Country dolls, Teddy Bear making Stitchery etc. I registered my Cottage Business and had to choose a name.

My Gran many years ago taught me to crochet and as I write left handed it was quite a task - She used to often say to me - Oh! You’re a Molly Dooker ( a term for left handed people) so hence the name.

I have had much fun the past five years and have really found my niche in tutoring - traveling to the country areas within 6 hours of Mackay holding very enjoyable and fun workshops - I have a range of my own patterns out and also distribute some wonderful Australian designers patterns as well as some from overseas.
